When I was in college, I worked for the local newspaper as a sportswriter. From that moment, my passion for journalism flourished. I’ve been Ka Moi’s adviser for the past 15 years; it’s a position that comes with incredible responsibility. Yet I feel blessed; I get to witness student journalists blossom first hand, especially as they understand the importance of their voice, a Hawaiian voice that represents the truth. I constantly remind my students to never be afraid to tell the truth but do it honorably and accurately
