Aloha! ʻO Mahina Tahere koʻu inoa. I am a seventeen-year-old aspiring author and love anything involving the arts. I spend most of my free time painting, reading, writing, or listening to music. Art is my passion, especially writing, and I am super excited to be on the team! I would like to write biographies in the future, but not for famous people. I want to tell the stories of random people because there are so many people with so many interesting stories that no one is telling. During my free periods, you can almost definitely find me painting in the art studio or studying in the library. I love reading action-packed fantasy and science-fiction books (especially when they include some sort of political intrigue). I am from Lāʻie and currently living in Kailua with my mom, stepdad, and two younger brothers. I have one older sister, four younger sisters, and a nephew still living up in Lāʻie with my father. I spend my weekends and afternoons working at a shave ice place (gotta love Island Snow) and hanging out with my boyfriend. I seem to be incapable of existing without music blasting in my ears, so Halsey, Taylor Swift, Paramore, Good Charlotte, Mayday Parade, and Gracie Abrams are a few staples in my life. Some of my other hobbies include swordplay, throwing knives/axes, and decorating everything with beads because I think it is fun. I love mountain air, thunderstorms, and late-night walks on starry nights. I am so excited to join the team and cannot wait to embarrass myself with the amount of effort I throw at a high school newspaper!
