I Mua Olympic’s Newest Addition: Powder Puff

As a new era begins in Hawaii prep football, with the ILH and OIA merge, so does one here at Kamehameha Schools. With so many changes and policies being added, ASKS felt that it was time to modify the beloved I Mua Olympics. “We wanted to increase school spirit and we thought that getting activities for the students to play would be a nice way to do that.”, said ASKS member Hoku Arias.

The addition of Powder Puff opens gives the girls of  Kapālama an opportunity to showcase their football knowledge. Powder Puff football will allow  girls to compete head to head in touch-tackle football games. The rules for pylon football also apply to Powder Puff, as it must be in compliance of other I Mua Olympic activity policies. “First and foremost was safety, but after that we really left it up to what the students wanted for themselves.”, said Arias.

I Mua Olymics begins on Sep. 17, so be sure to cheer on girls participating in Powder Puff during the homeroom and lunch blocks.
